AutoDens is a practical tool that enables users to easily calculate air density with just one touch. It takes into consideration important factors such as temperature, air pressure, and humidity that impact the performance of engines and aircraft. By automatically retrieving the necessary parameters through internet connectivity, AutoDens provides real-time calculations of air density, relative humidity, and air pressure. Additionally, it displays relevant information including geographical location, current temperature, dewpoint, physical elevation, and barometric pressure (QNH).
Key Features:
- Automatic, airport, and offline (manual) modes.
- Accurate location detection.
- Meteo-data (METAR) retrieval from the nearest airport.
- Calculation of meteo-values based on the user's current geographical position, leveraging data from up to 4 nearby airports.
- Raw format display of the METAR report from the nearest airport.
- Calculation of essential metrics such as density altitude, pressure altitude, relative humidity, air density, and QFE.
- Option to select preferred units (Celsius/Fahrenheit, hectopascal/inches of mercury, feet/meters).
- Comprehensive database with over 40,000 airports worldwide.
While AutoDens serves as a valuable tool for air density calculations, it should not be solely relied upon for flight preparation due to potential limitations in its infrastructure. There is a possibility of inaccurate results in cases where internet connection fails or unusual weather conditions deviate from the ISA standard atmosphere calculations. Therefore, it is essential to use AutoDens as part of a comprehensive flight planning approach rather than relying exclusively on this app.
